Mes films préférés / My favourite movies
Je vais vous parler de certains films que j’aime bien… Pas tous, ce serait trop long autrement 😉 (I’m going to talk a bit about some of my favourite movies… but not all of them, it would take ages otherwise.)
J’adore vraiment les tril
ogies de la Guerre des Etoiles. ( I really love the Star Wars trilogies). J’aime bien la façon avec laquelle l’histoire est construite (I like the way the story is built) Les effets spéciaux sont très impressionnants (the special effects are really breath-taking), et j’aime bien la musique de John Williams également (I like the original soundtrack from John Williams as well)
Un autre film que j’apprécie est la Ligne Verte. (Another movie I’m fond of is the Green Mile). C’est un film très émouvant, qui parle de racisme dans les années 30 aux Etats-Unis. (It’s a moving film dealing with racism in the United States, back in the 1930’s) Tom Hanks joue dans ce film, c’est un de mes acteurs préférés. (Tom Hanks stars in the Green Mile, he’s one of my favourite actors)
J’aime aussi Léon : ce film est réalisé par Luc Besson, et raconte l’histoire d’un tueur en série. (I like “Leon” : it was directed by Luc Besson and tells the story of a serial killer). Jean Reno joue Léon et c’est son premier rôle au cinéma pour Natalie Portman (Jean Reno plays the part of Leon, and the movie stars Natalie Portman, who plays for the first time in a movie)
J’aime bien les dessins animés Disney, et surtout le Roi Lion (I like the Disney animated movies, especially the Lion King)… et j’aime aussi la Belle et la Bête (Beauty and the Beast), Aladdin, la Petite Sirène (Little Mermaid)…

hi guillome my favourite films are shrek the third(shrek le troisieme),the grinch who stole christmas (le grinch qui a vole Noel), cars(voitures),and bee movie(abeille film). p.s. i like le roi lion:):):):):)what are we doing next week?(just curious)

Hi Josh. Don’t trust translators too much, it can both be adequate or inadequate. The French titles for the movies you like are “Shrek le troisième” (correct title), “Comment le Grinch a volé Noël (literally “How the Grinch stole Christmas”), “Cars” and “Bee movie” (they remain the same in French, funnily enough). I quite like those movies as well.
For next week, I don’t know yet, I haven’t thought of it to be honest, but I’ll sort this out during the weekend. Maybe watch another part of “le roi lion” or “Aladdin”… But if you want to do something specific, just tell me… after all it’s your club… 🙂 🙂

Yes, there should be more people coming next week, because all the teachers have informed their classes about the French club… so we’ll see. Don’t hesitate to bring ideas anyway.
