Coupe du Monde 2010 : football

J’aime aussi beaucoup le football (I like football a lot as well). La France vient de se qualifier pour la Coupe du Monde 2010 (France has just got qualified for the World Cup 2010). Ils ont souffert face à de vaillants Irlandais (They struggled against hard-working Irishmen)

Cette Coupe du Monde s’annonce exceptionnelle, avec pour moi beaucoup de favoris (This World Cup is going to be really exciting ; according to me many teams can lift the trophy).

–  le Brésil évidemment avec son beau jeu (Brazil with its “beautiful game” /”joga bonito”)

– l’Angleterre  : je trouve que l’équipe est assez complète ; si elle est en forme, elle ira loin. (if England is fit, I think that they can go very far in the competition, because they are quite a complete team)

– l’Espagne, championne d’Europe en titre  (Spain, holders of the European Championship)

– la France : je ne dis pas ça parce que je suis français, mais je pense qu’on démarre souvent la compétition avec des difficultés, et ensuite on est meilleurs dans les matchs à élimination directe, comme on l’a montré à la Coupe du Monde 2006; (France : I do say that not because I’m a Frenchman, but I think that generally we start quite slowly in the first round, and then we get better in the knock-out phase, as we have already shown in the last World Cup in 2006)

Certaines équipes peuvent créer la surprise :  (some teams may be revelations of the tournament)

je vois bien les Etats-Unis , le Camreoun et la Côte d’Ivoire comme surprises. (To me, the USA, Cameroon and the Ivory Coast may surprise us)
